About Steph’s Tribe
This organization recognizes the day to day hardships families face that often go unnoticed. While Steph’s journey was unique to her, many of the challenging circumstances that she and her family had to navigate through are all too common among others fighting cancer and their caretakers.
In February of 2018, Steph was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the small bowel, a rare form of intestinal cancer. Steph drew her strength and determination to continue to fight every day from the unwavering support of her closest friends, family, and countless community members affectionately known as “Steph’s Tribe.” Their love and gratitude will forever be remembered and cherished, and their energy is the driving force behind this charitable organization.
Steph tragically passed away on August 14th, 2021 following her courageous 3-year battle.
About Steph
Stephanie Gorsh was a QC native that took great pride in her community.
Despite the challenges during her treatments, Steph continued to always put others first by reaching out to those in need, while supporting causes and people that were experiencing hardships big and small. She personified the idea of shouldering up to people to make their load lighter.
Stephanie worked throughout her cancer journey, and relished in making a difference at the Army Sustainment Command on the Rock Island Arsenal. It was to no one's surprise that Steph quickly became everyone's friend, organizing get togethers and celebrating her co-workers many achievements. Upon Steph’s passing she was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal from the Secretary of the Army.
